Supporting a growing, pioneering company requires seasoned, innovative leadership. WebTone's management team brings together diverse expertise from the customer relationship management arena, international financial services institutions, software giants, technology consultancies and successful Internet companies.

Michael C. McChesney, Founder and Chairman
Michael McChesney has earned a solid reputation as a thought leader in financial services technology. He continues to set the industry pace as founder and chairman of WebTone Technologies, where his vision influences the company’s strategy in the development of innovative technologies.

Before founding WebTone, McChesney founded S1 Corporation and Security First Network Bank, the world’s first Internet bank. Previously, he was cofounder and chief executive officer of SecureWare, Inc., a leading provider of secure network communications and applications. The company was sold in 1996 to Hewlett-Packard, where SecureWare’s technology still serves as the basis for the most secure runtime platform for e-business services. In addition to his current post as WebTone’s chairman, he also serves as managing partner of Five Paces Ventures, an Atlanta-based, early-stage venture capital fund.

He holds an MBA from the Wharton Graduate School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania and is a graduate of Vanderbilt University.

James K. Szyperski, President and Chief Executive Officer
An early member of WebTone’s board of directors, Jim Szyperski was recognized for his leadership in the high-tech arena and his teambuilding abilities. In late 1999, he was asked to assume the role of president and chief executive officer. In this capacity, he guides the company toward its growth objectives through interactions with the investment community, partners, analysts and the leading financial services institutions that benefit from WebTone’s best-of-breed solutions.

Under his leadership in 2001, the company acquired the Broadway & Seymour Group, a move that blended WebTone’s advanced call center and Internet capabilities with BSG’s leading-edge branch and call center automation. He was also recently successful in securing substantial capital funding for use in further moving the company toward its growth goals.

Previously, Szyperski founded Intellivoice Communications, a provider of telephony and speech recognition solutions, where he served as chairman and chief executive. A graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, he is a member of Atlanta’s Technology Executives Roundtable and sits on the board of Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Metro Atlanta.

Beth Abernathy, Chief Operating Officer
As chief operating officer for WebTone Technologies, Beth Abernathy provides leadership that sets the company apart. Under her direction, WebTone develops technology and applications to meet demonstrated market need and delivers client service that is unsurpassed in the category. She has carefully built a team of professionals with expertise not only in technology, but in the financial services industry. Because the company’s users experience smooth installations and a fast ROI, the result is a blue-chip list of clients that consistently provide positive references.

Prior to joining WebTone, Abernathy was president of VoiceCom, a division of Premiere Technologies, a provider of voicemail, e-mail, fax and conference calling technologies. A graduate of the University of Kentucky, she actively serves on the Board of Directors and the executive committee of Camp Sunshine, a retreat for children with cancer and their families.

Roger Maloch, Chief Financial Officer
Roger Maloch brings to WebTone Technologies a wide range of experience in finance, marketing and general management for high-growth technology companies, both public and private. He holds an MBA from Harvard University.

His expertise was crucial throughout the evaluation phase of WebTone’s pivotal acquisition of the Broadway & Seymour Group. In addition, he recently spearheaded the process of locating significant venture capital funds and managing the due diligence process, a move that added to the company’s financial strength and stability.

Previously, Maloch held CFO positions with Digital Transmission Services, Inc., a publicly traded telecommunications equipment provider; and Unicomp, Inc., a publicly traded, international software company with development and distribution offices throughout Europe.
